As ever, the BBC and Sir John refer to the Syrian ‘regime’, as they always do when it’s a government they want changed. They also refer to the ‘rebels’ when the reality is they are an evolution of Al-Qaeda, today called Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS); as Jonny Dymond says, ‘rebranded’.
Sir John: ‘Abu Mohammad al-Jolani has clearly changed the nature of the organisation. It’s actually much more capable. It’s actions of the last week are not those of an international terrorist group, it’s the actions of a national liberation movement and I’m sure MI5 will be looking again to see if the designation of 10-12 years ago should be revised….
We’ve learnt from Libya that if you depose an authoritarian regime, then you could end up with a badly fragmented and divided country…. Turkey is supporting some of these rebel movements… the only answer is some form of political settlement that ends up with Assad leaving the country…. he’d rather use chemical weapons against his own people…’

Made it out of Syria for the time being. Chaos rules, looting, thuggery and thieving. Gets the US Israel stamp of approval because this is what they believe in. Going through the border was a mash of gunfire, infighting and looting from every single shop and market. Terrorists on motorcycles, gunslingers and criminals. An incredibly sad experience. The house was surrounded by "rebels" drunk in "victory" from 5am, constant celebratory gunfire and around 10 they tried to beat the external door down to loot the contents of the house. Early morning Israel was destroying #Syria Air Defence with bunker buster bombs. The whole house shook. The CIA road map is always the same. The Resistance is broken and I doubt it can be repaired but the extremist mercenaries in the pay of Israel will tell you they "support Palestine". Go on then, you are on the border now.

The "freedom fighters" on the streets are the terrorists who slit throats, hung foetus in trees and sawed off the heads of their captives, massacred entire ethnic communities and stood on their remains drunk on bloodlust.
