It's wonderful how you capture the "tad bit insane" it reminded me of the riff by Neil Oliver on the last Jimmy Dore show about UK blanketing farmland with solar panels then launching a project to dim the sun.. madness by every measure & we pay these clowns as leaders, crazy!!

Regards the solar panels though ... I think we have ben set up again, like the introduction of the diesel cars and which I stood up to as a Chemical Engineer; due to their high, toxic, particular emissions (yes causing health problems).
Anyway.. I did not see it back then (not awakened ?), but when solar panels were relatively new ... blanketed the house and office with them ... no BTW (VAT) inthe EU, cannot remember in the UK and to be fair, you forget about them and they "allegedly" lower the bills. Apparently my investment in them in has now paid off (8 years) and then SUDDENLY, we get this:

These costs were passed on in the electricity price for all customers. So customers without solar panels also paid for this. We are now opting for a new approach to distribute these costs differently. We charge costs per kilowatt hour (kWh) of electricity that you supply back. That is generated electricity that you do not use yourself. Do you use the solar energy immediately when you generate it? Then you do not pay any return delivery costs for that. <==== ?
With solar panels you generate electricity that you can use directly in your home. If you do not use the generated electricity at that moment, you supply this electricity back to the electricity grid. With the netting arrangement you get the same rate (including tax) for the electricity that you supply back as you pay for the electricity that you consume at that moment. <<==== OK, so I am providing you with electricity, with the solar panels I paid for and you pay me back SMEWHAT a fair price (it is less than the normal price they charge by the way)
NOW THE CRUX.
From 1st Jan 2017 ..the amount I am paid for my generated electricity is greatly reduced OR eliminated...
